Media exec Barry Kluger, whose resume includes stops at MTV and USA, has written “A Life Undone, A Father’s Journey Through Loss,” a new book which chronicles the death, in 2001, of his 18-year-old daughter, Erica (in a car accident) and his journey in coping with her loss. Kluger is donating a portion of the book’s proceeds to The Erica A. Kluger Dance Scholarship at Spotlight Dance Academy and to Autism Speaks.
Another ex-MTVer, Tabi tha Soren, hosts tomorrow’s finale of Bloomberg TV’s “In novators” series (9 p.m.). And Justine Simmons, who co-stars on MTV’s reality series, “Run’s House,” was honored the other night at the Lower Eastside Service Center Gala (held at Capitale).

Network news: While CBS cancelled “Cold Case” yesterday — after months of ru mors it was likely a goner — the series (starring Kathryn Morris) is still performing fairly well in syndication. For the week ending May 9, “Cold Case” averaged 2.6 million viewers in syndication — good enough to finish tied for 37th (out of 122 shows).
Over at ABC, “Dancing With the Stars” judge Carrie Ann Inaba will pop up on an episode of Animal Planet’s “Housecat Housecall.” In the “Who Knew?” department, Inaba (and her boyfriend) live with five cats, which apparently ne cessitates the services of show host Dr. Katrina Warren (in the June 19 episode).
And NBC is holding open auditions for “The Sing Off,” which will return for a second season, Saturday at NYU’s Kimmel Center (8 a.m.).
