“Modern Family” actress Julie Bowen likes making the breast use of her time.
The radiant star stunned late-night TV viewers with a graphic picture of her breast-feeding her twins, and she said nursing has done wonders for whipping her body back into pre-pregnancy shape.
“It’s like two little liposuction machines just on you — they suck it right on out, the fat,” Bowen said on TBS’s “Lopez Tonight.”
“They’re doing God’s work right there. They’re helping me return to my birth weight.”
Bowen, 40, has year-old boys, Gus and John.
“They call that the double-football hold, George. You hold one here and one here, like this, like two footballs,” she told the host, George Lopez. As Bowen spoke, she mimed putting one baby under her left breast and another under her right. “You can only do it when they’re really little.”
Bowen, known for her work on “Boston Legal” and “Ed,” said she had wanted to show off the picture on “The View,” but the ABC gabfest refused to air the titillating image that “Lopez Tonight” showed for 56 seconds Wednesday night.
“I hope you’re brave enough to show it,” Bowen told Lopez.
Lopez got a kick out of the shot, saying: “Those kids are impressive. That technique is impressive!”
“Is that picture from Google Maps?” he added.
A representative for “The View” yesterday confirmed that Bowen had wanted to show off a breast-feeding picture during her Sept. 23, 2009, appearance.
But the show’s daytime hours made it impossible to air images of Bowen’s breast-feeding prowess, an ABC spokesman said.
“The standards for late night on cable are different than on network daytime and the image showed too much nudity,” said Karl Nilsson, a spokesman for daytime programming. “So Ms. Bowen demonstrated her double-football hold using two dolls.”
A representative for “Lopez Tonight” didn’t immediately return messages seeking comment.
