PSAL Class B softball playoff roundup: No. 26 FDR upsets No. 10 Morris in first round

Jennifer Ortiz went 4-for-5 with four RBIs to lead No. 23 FDR to a 16-7 win upset over No. 10 Morris in the PSAL Class B softball first round Thursday at Claremont Park in The Bronx.

All but one batter had an RBI for FDR (13-4), which meets No. 7 Lab Museum in the second round Monday. Ortiz gave up five earned runs on six hits and struck out 12 in seven innings. Morris finishes 13-3.

No. 1 LaGuardia 10, No. 32 RFK 0: Alex Sappington pitched a five-inning no-hitter, striking out 14 to lead LaGuardia (17-0), which meets No. 16 South Bronx in the second round Monday. RFK finishes 7-7.

No. 2 InTech 9, No. 31 Cleveland 8: Xiomara German went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and a run scored to lead InTech (17-0), which meets No. 18 A.P. Randolph in the second round Monday. Cleveland finishes 9-7.
