The Mets are again shopping Luis Castillo, according to FOXSports.com.
The report says, “Among the teams they’ve contacted: the Rockies, who are not satisfied with utility man Melvin Mora as their backup second baseman.”
It goes on to speculate that a trade would open up second base for Daniel Murphy, currrently recovering from a spring training knee injury.
“I’ve played the outfield, second base, first base, third, so it won’t be completely new to me wherever they send me,” Murphy told The Post on May 16. “It will be just like it is everywhere else, try to get more comfortable at whatever position.”
