Osi Umenyiora did not participate in Giants practice today due to a hip problem that has been bothering him this offseason.
Umenyiora, who has seemingly gotten past unhappiness with the Giants coaching staff that had him hinting at retirement, had a hip flexor injury in 2006 that flares up when he begins working out, an earlier NJ.com report said.
Surgery has been mentioned though the current course is rest and rehab.
“I expect Osi to have a big season,” Giants GM Jerry Reese said after practice. “He wants to. He’s a proud kid as we all know. I expect him to come in and really kill it (next season). He really wants to and I expect him to do it.”

RB Ahmad Bradshaw was on the field, but didn’t participate in practice. He said he’s “still on progress” to be 100 percent for training camp.
Bradshaw said he has been working out with the team about twice a week and reports no complications from his offseason ankle and foot surgeries.
“Everything is coming along,” Bradshaw said

DT Barry Cofield was not at practice because his wife was in labor.
TE Kevin Boss (ankle) and guard Kevin Boothe (pectoral muscle) had surgery earlier this week and were not at the workout.
