Breaking blockade was only reason for flotilla

As if more evidence were necessary, today brings two news items to underline that the sole purpose of the flotilla of six ships carrying “aid” from Turkey to Gaza was to break Israel’s blockade of Hamasistan – otherwise known as Gaza.

First, the United Nations, which is supposed to be conducting an impartial and transparent investigation into what happened on the Mavi Marmara, has in fact, already decided that Israel is at fault because the blockade is the problem.

As UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon declared, “this tragedy only highlights the serious underlying problem,” he said. “The long-running closure imposed on the Gaza Strip is counter-productive, unsustainable and wrong. It punishes innocent civilians. It must be lifted by the Israeli authorities immediately.”

The fact that the blockade prevents munitions and weapons from being easily delivered into the hands of Hamas for the purpose of attacking Israel isn’t apparently a consideration for the UN.

Second, the thugs who run Gaza aren’t allowing the supplies that have now been taken from the ships, checked, and delivered to the border, to enter Gaza.

“Maj. Guy Inbar, a senior Israeli official, said Palestinians were not allowing supplies from the ships to enter Gaza on Thursday. Eight truckloads of goods had been unloaded at a crossing point between Israel and Gaza and 13 more trucks were waiting, he said.”
