A Connecticut father chaperoning his son’s fifth-grade class trip to Manhattan was arrested yesterday for fondling six girls on the outing, authorities said.
Tomas Manzano, 35, of Stamford, was spotted by the teacher caressing a girl’s face as they were headed from the Central Park Zoo, officials said.
Manzano stopped after the teacher asked him what he was doing, but when they arrived at their next destination, Mars 2112 in Times Square, the two got into a heated argument in front of the students.
That’s when six other girls, ages 10 and 11, came forward and said that Manzano fondled them during the trip, police said.
When cops responded, Manzano, who had a less-than-full plastic liter of vodka in his possession, was belligerent, spitting and biting at the arresting officers, according to cops.
Manzano, who sources said has a history of alcohol-related problems, was taken to Bellevue Hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
Charges were pending last night.
