Fox News Channel could inherit the front-row White House seat vacated by Helen Thomas.
Fox News Channel and Bloomberg News are the two news organizations in the running for the coveted seat in the White House briefing room — used for presidential press conferences and other official White House press functions.
Fox News Channel is the only TV network without a front-row seat, while Bloomberg is the only wire service not in the front row, according to reports.
The White House Correspondents Association is expected to meet tomorrow to discuss who will get the seat, according to incoming WHCA president David Jackson.
Thomas, 89, retired Monday after her controversial remarks about Israel.
