A Bronx man who was paid $700 to kill his cousin’s girlfriend faces a possible life prison sentence after his conviction today for first-degree murder.
It took a Bronx Supreme Court jury two days to convict Devon Miller, 27, of the April 2008 slaying of 18-year-old Chelsea Frazier.
Miller fired eight bullets into Frazier while her boyfriend, Carlos Cruz, held her down in his car.
“They won’t be shooting any other peoples’ kids,” said the victim’s father, Lynn Frazier.
“I’m ecstatic about the verdict,” said the victim’s mom, Robin Snow.
Cruz, 39, of Southbridge, Mass., was sentenced to life in prison for the slaying in April. He said he ordered the killing because he suspected Frazier, the mother of his toddler, had another boyfriend.
Cruz lured Frazier from her home in Southbridge to the Bronx on the pretext of taking her on a shopping trip. Their child, then 14 months old, was in the back seat of the car when his mother was shot.
