UNIONDALE, N.Y. — Police say a Long Island high school student caught cheating on an exam is accused of beating up his teacher.
Nassau County police say the 14-year-old Uniondale High School student was taking a French exam on Tuesday when the teacher spotted him cheating and told him to change seats.
Police say the student refused and had to be escorted out of the classroom. Police say the boy later returned and attacked the teacher.
He was charged as a juvenile with assault.
The 52-year-old teacher was treated at a hospital for head and upper body bruises and cuts to his mouth.
