Veterans were fuming yesterday over the discovery of headstones found stuck in the muck of a stream running through Arlington National Cemetery.
“This is just another indication that there are serious problems at Arlington,” said Jay Agg, a spokesman for AMVETS. “We need to make sure that all of our heroes are given respect and honor in death.”
The decades-old headstones were found by the Washington Post, prompting a probe by officials at the cemetery where the Army ordered a shakeup last week after 200 graves were found misidentified or unmarked.
