Britain’s national health service refused to treat a 63-year-old cancer patient — because officials thought he was dead.

Alan Campbell had been battling skin cancer when he got a pain in this throat and feared it had spread. His doctor suggested he go to a specialist.

But when he called the number Britons use to get an appointment for specialized treatment, an operator told him he couldn’t be helped, because records showed he was deceased.
