A Boston man said that after he bought his sons a bag of grapes this week, the tots opened it up — and two black-widow spiders crawled out.
“Unfortunately, these things happen from time to time,” said a spokesman for Whole Foods, where the offending fruit was purchased.

A Scottish Parliament member had to quit a powerful committee after a hot “lady” he was caught publicly ogling turned out to be just a wee lass.
Frank McAveety was caught on an open mike in Parliament saying, “There’s a very attractive girl in the second row, dark and dusky. I’ll maybe have to put a wee word out for her.”
Turns out she was a teenage intern.

Britain’s national health service refused to treat a 63-year-old cancer patient — because officials thought he was dead.
Alan Campbell had been battling skin cancer when he got a pain in this throat and feared it had spread. His doctor suggested he go to a specialist.
But when he called the number Britons use to get an appointment for specialized treatment, an operator told him he couldn’t be helped, because records showed he was deceased.
