Dozens of generous New Yorkers stepped up yesterday with offers to fund funeral services for a brave 8-year-old Queens boy and his baby brother who died in a tragic blaze.
Tyanthony Duckette ran back into his family’s burning house Thursday morning in hope of saving his 17-month-old brother, Daniel Wilson.
But both boys died in the fire at 141-45 182nd St. in Springfield Gardens, which left their mom and siblings homeless.
“I’m devastated by the situation,” said Carlota Wilson, the children’s grandmother.
The boys’ mom, Sonia Wilson, was holding off yesterday on relaying the news of their deaths to their siblings, said Andrew Wilson, the boys’ grandfather.
Funeral arrangements for the boys were still incomplete yesterday.
City Councilman James Sanders Jr.’s office got more than 50 phone calls offering help. “They’ve been calling all day long,” said an aide.
