ELMONT, N.Y. — Police on Long Island are investigating the deaths of two men, as well as the disappearance of a woman, at a home in Elmont.
Nassau Police Lt. Kevin Smith says authorities were called early Wednesday after a New York City correction officer assigned to Riker’s Island failed to report for work for two days.
When police went to the officer’s home, they found a man lying dead in the kitchen.
Further investigation revealed a dead man in the basement of the home.
Police did not identify either victim.
A 25-year-old man, believed to be the correction officer’s brother, was being questioned.
A woman who lived at the home was missing, as was a 1998 Lexus that had been in the driveway.
Police say neither victim showed any obvious signs of trauma.
