A 3-year-old Long Island toddler drowned today after in a pool when her nanny lost her footing, causing both of them to fall into the water, authorities said.
The nanny, who was not identified, was put on a ventilator after the tragic accident in Lawrence.
A 5-year-old, who was not in the water at the time, alerted a nearby worker at about 4 p.m. who tried to resuscitate the woman and child.
The nanny and toddler were taken to a nearby hospital after the worker called 911.
