‘Rambo’ home after futile Osama hunt

The kooky Colorado construction worker busted in Pakistan as he hunted Osama bin Laden was back in the United States yesterday.

Gary Faulkner, a 50-year-old Rambo wannabe who for years has pursued a quest to avenge the 9/11 terror attacks, landed in Los Angeles after Pakistani officials released him.

“I feel fantastic,” he said. “The [Pakistanis] are really cool. They took good care of me.”

Faulkner, who has kidney problems and needs dialysis, has traveled to Pakistan seven times since 2002.

He was arrested in a forest there near the Afghan border on June 13.

He said yesterday his missions aren’t for personal glory.

“This is not about me, it’s about the American people and the world,” he said.

“We can’t let people like this scare us. We scare them, and that’s what this is about.”

Pakistani officials said Faulkner had slipped a police escort and was carrying a pistol, a 40-inch samurai sword and a Bible when he was nabbed.
