That’s $63,850 down — and just $170 billion to go.
Gaudy furniture, exercise equipment and other items seized from Bernard Madoff’s trusted lieutenant Frank DiPascali were auctioned yesterday in Parsippany, NJ, by the US Marshal’s Office, which will give the cash to scam victims.
“I just wanted the machine. I had no idea . . . who owned it,” said a man named Claus, 49, whose $3,400 winning bid for DiPascali’s “Lord of the Rings” pinball machine was the day’s biggest sale.
Other bidders hauled off 50 lots of loot for a total of $63,850, including a poker table and snow blower. DiPascali, who pleaded guilty last year to 10 felonies, is on the hook for a $170 billion judgment.
Among the bidders were a couple who had previously bought DiPascali’s forfeited Bridgewater, NJ, house along with all the possessions inside — which were later seized from them by the feds for yesterday’s auction.
