Douglas eyes escape from NY in new ex war

Oscar-winner Michael Douglas loves filming and living in New York — just don’t ask him to deal with his ex-wife’s bid for half of his “Wall Street 2” money in a New York courtroom.

And Douglas is “desperate” not to have New York Supreme Court matrimonial Judge Matthew Cooper hear the case even if it is kept in the Big Apple, Diandra Douglas’ lawyer, Nancy Chemtob, argued in that court to Cooper last week.

The Post revealed exclusively yesterday that Diandra — who divorced Michael in California in 2000 — is suing for half the upfront money and royalties he gets from playing Gordon Gekko in “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps,” the follow-up to the 1987 smash hit “Wall Street.”

Michael’s lawyer, Marilyn Chinitz, argued that Diandra is owed cash only from deals that Michael signed during their marriage — and that Michael had no deal for any money from a “Wall Street” sequel or spinoff at the time of the settlement.

Chinitz wants Diandra’s claim heard in Santa Barbara, Calif. — where the divorce took place — and not in New York, where they both now have homes.

Michael may have an ace in the hole: Chinitz said Diandra in 1997 made a videotaped statement agreeing that any future disputes in the settlement would be heard in a California court.
