NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said he would look into legal incidents involving quarterbacks Michael Vick and Vince Young.
Goodell told reporters at the NFL’s rookie symposium on Sunday the league is “still gathering the facts” about a shooting last week that left a co-defendant in Vick’s dogfighting case wounded.
Goodell also said he will meet with Young in the next few weeks to discuss his role in an altercation at a strip club near Dallas. The Titans’ Young, a first-time offender who received a misdemeanor citation for assault, was unlikely to be suspended, Goodell said.

The father of Giants rookie safety Chad Jones said his son is in good spirits and that his injured left leg and foot are looking better.
In a statement released by LSU, Al Jones said a long healing process is only beginning, but adds that “everything is positive right now” with Chad Jones’ recovery from a serious auto wreck early Friday morning.

The Giants yesterday waived Chris Davis after the wide receiver-kick returner failed his physical. Davis, whom they claimed off waivers from the Bengals, would have competed for a job in training camp after Domenik Hixon was lost for the season with torn knee ligaments. Davis missed the entire 2009 season with the Titans because of a hamstring injury. — Paul Schwartz

Bengals receiver Chris Henry suffered from a chronic brain injury that may have influenced his mental state and behavior before he died last winter, West Virginia University researchers said.
Henry’s brain showed he suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy, which researchers believe is caused by multiple head impacts.
Henry died in December after he came out of the back of a pickup truck his fiancee was driving.
