Kids enjoy some frightening fun at 61st Precinct Halloween party

For some, going to the police station is pretty scary. On Halloween, it’s downright frightening!

Dozens of area children were treated to a spook-tacular good time at the 61st Precinct stationhouse on Coney Island Avenue between Avenues W and V last Thursday during a fun-filled annual Halloween party put on by cops and members of the 61st Precinct Community Council.

Creepy goblins, gruesome ghouls, scary skeletons, alleycats, ninjas and Power Puff Girls converged on the stationhouse to participate in a host of fun-filled games. The prize was always the same — candy doled out by NYPD Community Affairs officer Amber Cafaro — but no one complained.

Dressed as a Keystone Cop, 61st Precinct Community Council member Ed Eisenberg said the annual party was a great boon to police-community relations.

“Everyone had fun and the kids got to meet a few of the police officers who protect the neighborhood,” Eisenberg said. “That’s the real treat.”

The kids may disagree, however. Cops are cool, but candy is always king.
