Brothers ‘in law’ in firing suit

Move over Cain and Abel.

A top partner at several New York law firms has given his brother and fellow partner the boot — accusing him of “abject laziness, lack of initiative” and playing online Scrabble for hours instead of doing his job.

Andrew Finklestein also claims in court papers that his older brother Joel long ago “checked out” and “has done little or no productive work for nearly a decade” at their firms, including the well-known Jacoby & Meyers, despite being paid millions of dollars.

“He viewed the law firms as cash cows to be milked for all they were worth,” court papers claim.

Andrew’s scathing accusations were made in Manhattan Supreme Court last week in response to Joel suing him and their other partners over his firing in June.

In one e-mail Joel sent their dad, Howard Finklestein, last year, Joel allegedly described a “typical day or ½ day” at work, which included chatting “about the weather,” and discussing “Halloween decorations,” baseball and high school soccer with colleagues.

Joel’s lawyer, Arthur Ciampi, said the shocking claims “have no factual basis.”
