The Knicks are bouncing back to the Garden.
Madison Square Garden will reopen for the Knicks’ scheduled home game tomorrow after shutting down because of an asbestos scare.
Some debris fell from the Garden’s ceiling during overnight work Monday, and initial tests involving 24 safety monitors around the arena showed it might have been asbestos.
That led the Knicks to cancel Tuesday’s game against the Orlando Magic.
But more exact testing quickly showed the debris was harmless.
Garden bosses have stood behind their decision, saying they acted out of an abundance of caution.
And Mayor Bloomberg said yesterday postponing the game was the right call.
“If they made any mistakes, they were mistakes in the direction of being cautious and they should be commended for that,” Bloomberg said. “They did not put their interests, the team’s interests, ahead of any conceivable safety issue.”
