Martin Brodeur will be back between the pipes for the Devils on Friday night when they go for their first home win of the season against the Oilers.
Brodeur has been out since Nov. 3 when he took a slapshot from the Blackhawks’ Patrick Kane off his elbow.
“I felt pretty good, so I’ll give it a go tonight,” Brodeur told NJ.com at the Devils’ morning skate. “I think I’m pretty close to 100 percent. It’s a bruise, but moving-wise and doing the stuff I need to do to perform, I’m alright.”
Though Broduer returns, the Devils will be without Jamie Langenbrunner against Edmonton, NJ.com reports.
The Devils captain went hard into the boards in Wednesday night’s loss to the Sabres. Langenbrunner was able to finish that game, but was sore and unable to practice on Thursday.
MacLean will not attempt to pass on Langenbrunner’s captain “C” — a move former coach Jacques Lemaire attempted last year much the dismay of Langenbrunner.
“Jamie is still sore, upper body,” MacLean said. “As I said, he went in there awkwardly so he needs to take another day here.”
