ALBANY — Gov.-elect Andrew Cuomo yesterday declared unequivocal opposition to any New York trial for Khalid Sheik Mohammed, as a decision nears on long-awaited plans to prosecute the Sept. 11 mastermind.
Cuomo offered a simple “No” when asked during a radio interview whether he would allow the Justice Department to resurrect a controversial plan to try the al Qaeda boss just blocks from Ground Zero. He said, “Yes,” he’d fight his “best” to prevent such a plan.
