LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — It was pie-in-the-sky time at a New Jersey prep school yesterday.
More than 400 students and staff at The Lawrenceville School tried to break the Guinness world record for biggest custard pie fight.
The school needed at least 435 people to hurl the chocolate-custard pies with graham cracker crusts to claim the title.
The record is based on the number of participants, and each must have access to at least two edible pies.
The gooey chaos on the campus field was all for a good cause.
Proceeds from participation fees and donations will benefit the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen. More than $7,000 has been raised.
