An off-duty cop who was brutally beaten in her house during an ex-con’s home-invasion spree wept in court today as the thug was found guilty of his heinous crimes.
A Queens jury deliberated for just one day before finding fiend Kenneth Washington, 29, guilty of terrorizing the cop and at least two other homeowners in 2006 and 2007.
The female officer wiped away tears and leaned against a friend as Judge Gregory Lasak read the guilty verdict after the three-week trial.
Washington had broken into the 39-year-old officer’s home in 2006 and was rummaging through her jewelry box when she came upon him. He viciously attacked her before fleeing.
Later that year, Washington then busted into a Bellerose home and stole jewelry and video games from the woman and children who lived there.
Washington continued his spree — and stepped up the violence — in 2007, when he attempted to rape a sleeping, six-months-pregnant homeowner. The woman fought him off, ran to to the bathroom and climbed out a window to seek help from neighbors.
DNA evidence linking Washington to the crimes was found at each of the scenes.
Washington faces up to 25 years in prison.
