The reality-show star’s life is the latest unlikely TV story to get a stage treatment in theater-crazy London.
A musical based on “The Jerry Springer Show” was a smash several years ago in London — though never made much of a splash when it came here for a brief run in 2008.
The Susan Boyle musical has no original music — but uses hit songs like Tony Orlando’s “Knock Three Times,” Janis Ian’s “At Seventeen” and “Stuck in the Middle With You” to illustrate her unhappy upbringing in Scottish public housing.
The second act includes her triumphant appearance on “Britain’s Got Talent” and sudden rise to fame — as well as her pre-finale breakdown.
At the curtain call, the actress who played Boyle, Elaine C. Smith, called the real singer to the stage for a standing ovation.
