An NYPD cop was arrested yesterday for allgedly beating a man into a coma at a troubled Inwood nightclub — more than two months after the department pleaded for the public’s help in finding the perp, sources said.
Rookie Ariel Frias, 27, was charged with misdemeanor assault in the Jan. 8, off-duty beating of Edwin Veloz at Mamajuana Café on Dyckman Street.
Dramatic video allegedly shows the cop and a pal punching the victim.
The beating led an Inwood community board to nix the restaurant owner’s request for a liquor license at a second establishment.
Frias’ lawyer, Michael Martinez, did not return calls for comment.
