While some liberal pundits are declaring Michigan a lost cause for Mitt Romney’s presidential hopes, the state’s Senate race looks like trouble for Democrats as Sen. Debbie Stabenow’s lead over Republican Rep. Pete Hoekstra is shrinking fast.
Stabenow’s lead was 53 to 32 in February, in March the spear is down to five points, 45 to 40 percent.
Meanwhile, in Ohio, the latest Rasmussen poll of the Senate race between Democrat incumbent Sen. Sherrod Brown and young, Jewish, marine, Iraq-vet Josh Mandel shows a deat heat 43 to 43 percent.
Brown’s campaign used the bad news to beg for money to help “fight back.”
With Sen. Marco Rubio promising not to vacate his hard-won Senate seat, it looks more and more like the GOP has a good shot at retaking the Senate majority.
Good news for those hoping that Obamacare will go away. If the Supreme Court doesn’t strike down the whole thing finding only the individual mandate unconstitutional, at least come November, a new Republican majority in the Senate can do the rest of the job.
