Cops are hunting for two thugs (one pictured at right) who beat a homeless man in St. George, authorities said.
The brutes approached Hector Meza, 33, at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday outside the St. George Ferry Terminal and beat him unconscious.
The thugs left Meza in the street — where an off-duty police officer accidentally drove his car into him.
Meza is in critical condition at Richmond University Medical Center, authorities said.

Cops are seeking two dopes (one pictured below) who were caught on camera during a brazen purse-snatching at a Sunnyside veterinary clinic.
The thieves walked into the Complete Care Veterinary Center on Clove Road near Glenwood Avenue at about 12:45 p.m. Aug. 17.
One perpetrator grabbed a bag from the counter, while the other acted as a lookout, cops said.
The first thief is 6-foot-3, and sported a tan shirt, authorities said. His accomplice wore a hat and blue shirt.

Two gun-wielding thugs robbed a man of a book bag in Sunset Park, police sources said.
The victim, 54, had just stepped off a bus on 58th Street near Sixth Avenue at about 3 a.m. on Aug. 18 when a man approached him and snarled, “Give me your money!”
A second man threw the victim to the ground and grabbed his black leather book bag — which had a calculator, a math book, a notebook and a pen in it, the sources said.
The crooks then fled toward Sixth Avenue.
The Bronx

A Soundview man was gunned down early yesterday, authorities said.
Yusef Middleton, 30, was shot in the chest at about 1:25 a.m. during a fight in his apartment building, on Boynton Avenue near Bruckner Boulevard.
He was declared dead at Jacobi Medical Center.
It was not clear what sparked the violence.
Middleton’s rap sheet includes arrests for assault and pot possession, and he has a criminal record in Virginia, according to law-enforcement sources.
Police are questioning a suspect, who has not yet been charged.

A Parkchester man was found shot dead in his apartment, authorities said.
The 23-year-old man, whose name was not released pending family notification, was found unconscious in his residence on Unionport Road near Metropolitan Avenue at about 3:55 p.m. Friday with a gunshot wound to the head, cops said.
No firearm was recovered, and no arrests have been made.
Manhattan
Police are looking for a thief who posed as an undercover officer to rob a Midtown spa, authorities said.
The crook knocked on the door of the Manhattan Rainbow Spa on 45th Street near Fifth Avenue at about 10 p.m. on June 21.
He displayed a fake police badge and pretended to be a cop, according to police.
He demanded cash from a 53-year-old female employee who let him inside, and then fled with his loot.
No one was injured during the heist.
