Rihanna says he’s still “the love of my life,” and these photos show Chris Brown may still have a thing for her.
Rihanna had just accepted the award for Video of the Year at the MTV Video Music Awards on Thursday night when her abusive ex-boyfriend left his front-row seat in the audience — and gave her a stunning kiss on the lips.
Then they hugged and Brown kept his arm around Rihanna’s waist as she chatted with another front-row guest, singer Akon.
But they weren’t done.
Brown — who is dating model Karrueche Tran — retook his seat at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Rihanna gave him an affectionate head pat before she headed for her own seat.
The more-than-friends exchange comes three years after they broke up on the eve of the 2009 Grammys — when Brown was charged with assault for leaving Rihanna bruised and battered.
But last month Rihanna told Oprah Winfrey, “He was my first love. Now we’re very close friends. And that’s not anything we’re going to try to change.”
