INDIANAPOLIS — G.I. Joe, Transformers and Lego building blocks have been selected the top iconic toys of the past century by patrons of the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.
The museum announced the results of more than 24,000 votes cast over eight weeks beginning July 16.
After the initial five weeks of public voting, a list of 100 toys was trimmed to 20, and a second vote determined the top three.
Barbie finished fourth, and the View-Master fifth. Other favorites include bicycles, Cabbage Patch Kids, crayons, Play-Doh, the Monopoly board game and Raggedy Ann.
The top 20 toys are now on display at the museum.
