Mike Woodson has added two assistant coaches, former Penn State head coach, Jerry Dunn, and LaSalle Thompson.
In addition, the Knicks will use Chris Ford as a coaching consultant, as he was at Tuesday’s first day of practice. They have also hired shooting coach, Dave Hopla.
Dunn was 117-121 in eight years at Penn State, resigning in 2003. He most recently was the associate head coach at Michigan from 2007-’09. Thompson had a 15-year career in the NBA and played with Woodson in Sacramento.The Knicks didn’t formally announce any of the moves. Dunn and Thompson replace Kenny Atkinson, who quit to join the Hawks staff.

Rasheed Wallace didn’t practice today and was instead in the locker room working out because his contract hasn’t been finalized. It is not believed Wallace will get a full guarantee unless he makes the team. He can only make the veteran’s minimum – $1.7M… Woodson staged a three-hour practice as he will not do two-a-days. “I’m done with two-a-days,’’ said Woodson, who cut it out after his first few years in Atlanta. Woodson said players don’t respond well physically from the two-a-days.
