Police have released video of the gunman who fired into a Bronx bodega – wounding a clerk on his first day of work.
The shooter had asked a 20-year-old employee inside Taiz Deli & Grocery on Valentine Avenue for a “loosey” – a single cigarette – around 11 a.m. Sunday, according to cops and the victim’s cousin.
After being turned away during an argument, he returned around 4:30 p.m. and squeezed off three rounds into the store, cops added.
One bullet hit the victim in the hip and he was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
His cousin, Naif Alknel, previously told The Post that the victim had just arrived from Yemen and the incident occurred on “the first time he came to the store.”
The assailant, seen on the surveillance footage, is believed to be in his 20s and remains on the lam, cops said.
