A former maid to a prominent real-estate developer and nationally known Republican fund-raiser has filed a lawsuit claiming she worked in an abusive environment and was underpaid in violation of labor laws.
Housekeeper Aleksandra Ciesielska says that while working from November 2007 to April 2012 in the Old Westbury, LI, household of Lawrence Kadish, and his wife, Susan, she and other domestic staff members of Slavic heritage were subject to angry tirades, according to the discrimination suit filed in Brooklyn federal court.
Ciesielska, who is of Polish descent, claims that Susan Kadish routinely used the term “Polish idiot” to refer to her and other workers.
Ciesielska claims many staff members left to escape “Susan Kadish’s regular yelling and verbal abuse.”
A Kadish spokesman said the couple was looking forward to fighting these false charges in court.
