America Now” co-host Leeza Gibbons — who has a new book coming out early next year — is continuing her quest to educate people about Alzheimer’s, which claimed the life of her mother, Jean.

Gibbons, who founded Leeza’s Place in 2002 — which is dedicated to supporting and caring for the caregivers of Alzheimer’s patients — graces the cover of the October/November issue of Country Woman magazine. In the accompanying feature, she talks about dealing with her mother’s illness — and how Alzheimer’s also afflicted her grandmother.

“With my mom and grandma having it, I had to get comfortable with the idea that I can’t control the outcome,” she says. “It forced me to slow down. I had to drop the dread.”

Gibbons, who co-hosts the nationally syndicated “America Now” with Bill Rancic, also hosts “My Generation” on PBS. Her new book is entitled “Your Life, Your Rules.” And, of course, she’s also known to TV viewers from her former stints at “Extra” and “Entertainment Tonight.”
