Take it Easy, Jim!
During July’s free agency, Knicks owner James Dolan will be carrying around a guitar more often than his NBA checkbook.
Dolan’s blues band, JD & the Straight Shot, announced it will hit the road in July with the Eagles on their “History of the Eagles’’ tour for 11 shows from July 6 through July 25. It kicks off July 6 in Louisville and ends in the Woodstock area, July 25, in upstate Bethel. Dolan has opened before for the Eagles, as well as Joe Walsh and ZZ Top.
Dolan’s Knicks aren’t capable of doing a lot of spending during free agency like last July with the new CBA’s harsh rules about forbidding sign-and-trades for free agents for clubs over the luxury-tax threshold. Dolan almost never talks to the media about the Knicks any longer, speaking now through his music.
