A look back at Nets first-round picks over the last decade

Here’s a breakdown of each of the players the Nets left the draft with over the past 10 years, and where they played this past season:

2012

No. 41: Tyshawn Taylor (Brooklyn Nets) – Spent last season as the Nets third point guard behind Deron Williams and C.J. Watson.

No. 54: Tornike Shengelia: (Brooklyn Nets) – Spent last season as a backup forward for the Nets.

No. 57: Ilkan Karaman: (Fenerbahce Ulker in Turkey) – Spent last season playing for Turkish power Fenerbahce.

2011

No. 25: MarShon Brooks (Brooklyn Nets) – Was a backup shooting guard behind Joe Johnson for the Nets last season.

No. 31: Bojan Bogdanovic (Fenerbahce Ulker in Turkey) – After spending the last two seasons playing for Fenerbahce, is expected to sign with the Nets next month.

No. 36: Jordan Williams (No team) – After being traded to Atlanta in the Joe Johnson trade, was released and didn’t play for a team last year.

2010

No. 3: Derrick Favors (Utah Jazz) – He’s continuing to show the promise he displayed as a rookie, which prompted the Jazz to want him as the centerpiece of the Deron Williams trade in 2011.

No. 24: Damion James (Brooklyn Nets, NBA Development League’s Bakersfield Jam) – Outside of a 10-day contract with the Nets, spent the season plying his trade for Bakersfield.

2009

No. 11: Terrence Williams (Boston Celtics, Guangdong Southern Tigers) – After beginning last season playing in China, Williams signed with the Celtics, where he impressed to the point where he earned for a contract for next season.

2008

No. 10: Brook Lopez (Brooklyn Nets) – Made his first All-Star team this past season after playing just five games thanks to a pair of foot injuries in 2011-12.

No. 21: Ryan Anderson (New Orleans Pelicans) – Has developed into one of the best shooting big men in the NBA, and continued to impress in his first year in New Orleans.

No. 40: Chris Douglas-Roberts (Dallas Mavericks, NBA Development League’s Texas Legends) – After starting the year in the D-League, Douglas-Roberts earned a call-up to the Mavericks in December, who later released him in January.

2007

No. 17: Sean Williams (NBA Development League’s Texas Legends) – Williams spent the entire season with the Legends – the third straight season that Williams, an Arlington product, has played for the Dallas area D-League team.

2006

No. 22: Marcus Williams (Unicaja Malaga in Spain) – Since leaving the NBA after the 2009-10 season, has bounced around to four different teams, including spending all of last year in Spain.

No. 23: Josh Boone (NBA Development League’s Iowa Energy) – Boone played just two games for the Energy before a knee injury ended his season.

No. 54: Hassan Adams: (Guaros De Lara in Venezuela) – Adams has played in Serbia, the Philippines and now Venezuela since leaving the NBA during the 2008-09 season.

2005

No. 15: Antoine Wright (NBA Development League’s Reno Bighorns) – Wright spent a couple of months in Reno this season, and has played in China, Spain and Venezuela since leaving the NBA for good in 2010.

No. 43: Mile Ilic (Vojvodina Srbijagas in Serbia) – Has bounced all around Europe since one season with the Nets (2006-07), with his latest stop coming in his native Serbia.

2004

No. 52: Christian Drejer: Retired since 2008.

2003

No. 22: Zoran Planicic: (BC Khimki in Russia) – Averaged 15.2 points and 6.3 assists in Euroleague play for Khimki this season, where he’s played since 2010. He left the club at the end of the season.
