You’d better hear this.
People are going deaf pumping up the volume on their MP3 players.
A city Health Department survey released yesterday found that nearly one in four high-volume headphone users between 18 and 44 have hearing issues.
They were more than twice as likely to have trouble hearing than those whose tastes run to softer sounds.
In March, The Post reported that Mayor Bloomberg was planning a public-service campaign warning of the dangers of hearing loss associated with loud music.
More than one-third of young adults say they listen to music with earbuds daily.
Of those, 16 percent play at high/maximum volume for over four hours.
Health officials recommended reducing the volume and limiting listening time.
