Coffee and tea take stage on Broadway
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, the LA-based import and celeb favorite, is expanding again in Manhattan.
The new leases are at 1700 Broadway, between 53rd and 54th streets, and 280 Broadway, between Chambers and Reade.
The chain will occupy 1,200 square feet at the base of 1700 Broadway, a 42-story office building owned by Ruben Cos. At 280 Broadway, it will take over 2,000 square feet in the office tower owned by Abro Management.
Newmark Grubb Knight Frank Retail’s Jeffrey Roseman, Marc Frankel and Benjamin Birnbaum represented the Coffee Bean.

Karaoke Riki on East 45th Street is closing, leaving a prime Grand Central location up for grabs. The 2,000 square-foot space consists of 60 seats, along with 10 seats at the bar and six soundproof rooms.
The space sits on top of Izakay Riki, a Japanese tapas bar that has a separate entrance and the same owner. The tapas bar will remain open.
