Rex poses with Jets fan wearing ‘This Team Makes Me Drink’ t-shirt

Being a Jets fan is so torturous that sometimes, it makes you want to drink.

And when Jets fan Joseph Grinwis attended training camp in Cortland, his shirt displayed that sentiment as it read, “This Team Makes Me Drink.”

It just so happens that Grinwis ran into Jets head coach Rex Ryan on Saturday night wearing that shirt, and the coach posed for a picture with a smile on his face.

Ryan and his coaching staff were out Saturday night in Cortland when Grinwis from New Jersey asked the coach for a picture. He didn’t know how Ryan would react.

“The one night I’m wearing this shirt, you know? But he as cool with it. Maybe he wasn’t on the inside but he seemed cool with it,” Grinwis said according to Yahoo.

Grinwis chatted up the coach. who is entering the last year in his contract at a bar in Cortland, and Ryan laughed at the choice of wardrobe.

“He looked at it and laughed. He didn’t make a comment. He just laughed,” Grinwis said.

But the lame duck coach entering the final year in his contract may not be smiling for much longer. The team owned a 6-10 record last season and has no expectations this year. Ryan faces many issues in training camp, including who his starting quarterback will be as Mark Sanchez and rookie Geno Smith continue to battle it out, and it could be another long season for the Jets and their fans.
