Brooklyn artist rescued from subway tracks by two Good Samaritans

A Brooklyn artist told The Post he is grateful to be alive after being rescued by two mysterious good Samaritans who jumped into action when he had a seizure and fell on the tracks.

Leonard Wood, 52, had just gotten off C train at the Franklin Avenue station in Bedford-Stuyvesant around 9 p.m. Thursday when he fell ill and tumbled onto the tracks, he said from his bed at Kings County Hospital.

“Two men came to help me,” Wood said. “I don’t remember what they look like.”

“They pulled me up,” he continued. “I was on my back so they must have turned me over.”

Wood said that he just wants to thank the two men who he said saved his life. Both men apparently left the scene before first responders arrived, police sources said.

“Thank you. You saved my life,” Wood said when asked what he would say to the two men who came to his aid. “I would have done the same thing for them – no question about it,”

Wood said he was on his way to his brother’s house when he got off the train and immediately started having a seizure.

“I saw the train took off and the next thing I know I was on the tracks,” he explained. “I said to myself, ‘ How did I get here?’”

He was rushed to Kings County Hospital after smashing his forehead open from the fall. He also suffered cuts and bruises to his legs, authorities said.

Doctors told Wood that he mixed two of his medications which caused him to have a bad reaction, he told The Post.

The victim’s brother, Hank Wood, 55, said his brother “has more lives than a cat and a pack of angels with him all the time.”

“I feel grateful someone came to his aid. That’s what is so beautiful about New York,” he said of the good samaritans that saved his brother. “Thank you and God bless you. I’ve done it before. We should all be heroes for each other,” the brother added.

Authorities said Wood is expected to make a full recovery.
