She’s our new Wonder Gal!
Israeli stunner Gal Gadot has been cast as Wonder Woman in the upcoming superhero flick that stars Batman and Superman, studio officials said Wednesday.
The sexy heroine, who’s been a comic-book staple since World War II, was most famously played by Lynda Carter in the 1970s TV show. But somehow, the female superhero has never made it to the big screen until now.
Gadot will team up with Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman in the follow-up to this year’s “Man of Steel,” Warner Bros. said.
“Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe,” “Man of Steel” director Zack Snyder said in a statement.
“Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role.”
The 28-year-old Gadot is a former model who once vied for Miss Universe Israel in 2004.
She’s had a handful of big screen credits too, including “Fast & Furious” in 2009 and “Fast & Furious 6” earlier this year.
