Fans of “How I Met Your Mother” will bid a fond farewell to the long-running sitcom in March.
CBS on Thursday announced that the “HIMYM” series finale will air on Monday, March 31 with a special one-hour episode (8-9 p.m.).
That, in turn, will be followed by the premiere of “Friends With Better Lives,” a sitcom starring Kevin Connolly, Brooklyn Decker and James Van Der Beek.
CBS had announced earlier this year that “HIMYM” would end its nine-season run.
The series, which premiered in 2005, stars Neil Patrick Harris, Jason Segel, Josh Radnor, Cobie Smulders, Alyson Hannigan and Cristin Milioti.
Segel parlayed his role on the sitcom into a successful movie career (“This Is the End,” “The Five-Year Engagement,” “Friends with Benefits”).
