Philip Seymour Hoffman’s number was on at least three different cell phones taken from a lower Manhattan apartment where his suspected dealer was busted Tuesday night, sources told The Post.
The astonishing revelation further shows how desperate Hoffman had become as he lost his all-consuming battle with addiction.
Cops raided a Mott Street apartment Tuesday night, where Hoffman was seen months ago by a witness who had bought drugs at the place.
Busted were Robert Vineberg, 57, Max Rosenblum, 22, Thomas Kushman, 48, and Juliana Luchkiw, 22, who were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, sources said.
It is unclear if the suspected dealers sold Hoffman the drugs he used when he died Sunday.
Although the tip came from a known heroin user, investigators considered the witness a credible source — because he, too, had Hoffman’s cell phone number.
Based on the witness’ information — that he and Hoffman were buying drugs from one of the dealers at the same time last fall — cops staked out the building for a day before making the arrests.
Cops said the key player is Vineberg, an entertainment industry-connected musician who has had ties to a legion top stars including tragic pop singer Amy Winehouse.
Vineberg’s stepdaughter, Christina Soto, admitted her dad is a drug pusher and knew the actor – but insisted he didn’t sell Hoffman the drugs he did just before he died.
