Producer Dick Richards selling Sherry-Netherland pad

Dick Richards, who was nominated for an Academy Award for producing the film “Tootsie,” is selling his apartment in the Sherry-Netherland for $3.49 million.

Richards began his career as a Life magazine photographer. He then moved into directing commercials.

The renovated two-bedroom, two-bathroom co-op features a large living room with an open kitchen. The unit comes with hotel amenities and can be part of the hotel’s “rental pool” for income. The listing brokers are Randall Gianopulos and Catherine Godbille-Koechlin, of Sotheby’s International.

Built Ford Tough

Speaking of the Sherry-Netherland, the former home of Francis Ford Coppola in the historic building is now on the market for $7.5 million.

The two-bedroom unit boasts views of Central Park and Fifth Avenue. There’s a marble gallery that opens into a large living room and a master bedroom with an Art Deco marble bathroom with park views. The current dining room/library could be used as a third bedroom and comes with an adjacent full-size bathroom.

It can also be bought fully furnished.

The listing brokers are Serena Boardman, Stan Ponte and Randall Gianopulos, of Sotheby’s International.
