Andrew Heiberger and Joe Sitt — business partners and frenemies in a fast-growing real estate brokerage — kissed and made up on Tuesday evening, just hours after a story in The Post detailed their bitter and growing feud.
The battle at Town Residential started in January when Sitt fired Heiberger as CEO and then escalated when Lisa Heiberger, the boss’ sister, and Jacqueline Pestana, his executive assistant, were fired last week.
The tiff, which had spilled into the courts, threatened the firm — as some brokers were getting poached by rivals. That could have sparked the settlement.
As part of the reconciliation, Heiberger was hired as co-chairman and the two women were re-hired.
Heiberger founded Town in 2010, luring top brokers away from bigger companies with the promises of more money and perks.
Heiberger brought in Sitt as a partner in 2011.
The big make-up was announced in an email from Heiberger to Town staff.
“I am finally pleased to report some great news! Joe Sitt and I have come to an official settlement to all of our differences and will be moving forward together at Town,” Heiberger wrote.
“We know how difficult these last weeks have been for all of you, and we are deeply sorry. We recognize we have a great deal to do to earn back your trust, and repay you for this terrible inconvenience, but we are committed to doing so, no matter how long it takes.”
Heiberger also wrote: “You all have carried the mantle of TOWN with the utmost dignity and skill, and it is because of you that this family will continue to grow and thrive.”
