WASHINGTON — Add another famous selfie to President Obama’s growing collection — this one snapped by Red Sox slugger David Ortiz.
Big Papi took the close-up during a photo-op as the 2013 World Series champs met with Obama at the White House Tuesday and presented him with a team jersey.
“Actually, would you mind if I take my own?” Ortiz asked.
He snapped the shot with a Galaxy Note 3 by Samsung — with which he had inked an endorsement deal Monday.
That led one of his teammates to shout, “Cha-ching!” meaning Ortiz had hit the jackpot.
“What an honor! Thanks for the #selfie, @BarackObama,” Ortiz tweeted later.
“Beards or no beards, it is an honor to welcome the 2013 World Series Champion Boston Red Sox to the White House,” Obama said referring to the scruffy look that helped drive the Sox to their third championship in a decade.
Obama also paid tribute to the team for helping Boston heal after the tragic Boston Marathon attack, saying, “Boston and the Red Sox were one this season.”
