Nerds everywhere have emerged from their winter hiding places now that “Game of Thrones” is back — and it appears that the rest of TV wants to make your Sunday completely geeky:
‘Resurrection’ (Sunday, 9 p.m., ABC)
The very likable Omar Epps finally escaped the shadow of “House” to take the lead on his own show. Following the recent trend of inexplicably raising people from the dead, this mystery series distinguishes itself from the rest by not being particularly scary — although back-from-the-dead Caleb (Sam Hazeldine) could easily induce a couple of nightmares. Instead, Epps’ thoughtful Bellamy is trying to shield little, confused Jacob (Landon Gimenez) from everyone outside the town of Arcadia, which is quickly depleting its graveyard population.
‘Cosmos’ (Sunday, 9 p.m., Fox)
The family-friendly space odyssey continues this week as Neil deGrasse Tyson steers his Ship of the Imagination into 11th-century Europe and North Africa, when the scientific method was discovered. Alfred Molina lends his voice this week to the explanation of how light travels.
‘Believe’ (Sunday, 9 p.m., NBC)
If “Touch” couldn’t survive with Kiefer Sutherland in the lead, the magical-child concept seems unlikely to fare better in this scenario. The cute kid with powers (Johnny Sequoyah) is on the run with her death row dad Tate (Jake McLaughlin) in Philadelphia this week, but the kid still isn’t powerful enough to make the rest of the characters any more interesting or smarter.
‘Silicon Valley’ (Sunday, 10 p.m., HBO)
Feel the need to decompress after the tense “Game of Thrones” premiere? Unwind with a nerd-tastic comedy from Mike Judge (he who brought you the ultimate workplace comedy, “Office Space”), in which a group of young Silicon Valley engineers work at a Google-ish company under the thumb of delusional techie overlords. The series, which stars Thomas Middleditch, mostly looks like an “Entourage” for geeks, but it’s worth tuning in to the premiere just for its mockery of TED talks.
‘Robot Chicken’ (Sunday, 11:30 p.m., Adult Swim)
Stay up past your bedtime for the second edition of Robot Chicken’s tribute to DC Comics as the villains take over, before Season 7 kicks off next week. Alfred Molina snagged another voice-over gig, this time as Lex Luthor, and Giovanni Ribisi lends his voice as the Joker.
