The midseason finale of “Mad Men” took a ratings hit airing during Memorial Day Weekend — shedding nearly 1 million viewers from last season’s finale.
The AMC drama averaged 1.9 million viewers on Sunday at 10 p.m., down 30 percent from the 2.7 million who watched the Season Six finale last June (though ratings are expected to climb when DVR viewing is counted).
The episode — which featured the death of a an original cast member — was also down 17 percent from the 2.3 million viewers for the Season Seven premiere last April.
“Mad Men” will finish its run with seven final episodes premiering next spring.
